New firmware for our Ethernet Switch

We have released firmware version 16 for our Ethernet Switch, bringing a range of improvements designed to enhance usability and network management.

Among the key updates, the status page now displays real-time bandwidth usage, making it easier than ever to monitor traffic flow and pinpoint where data is moving.

Enhanced DHCP functionality for reliable IP assignments

Did you know that our Ethernet Switch can be used as a DHCP server? With this functionality, you can now bind a specific IP address to a physical port instead of relying on a MAC address. This ensures that any DHCP-capable device connected to a given port consistently receives the same IP, eliminating the need for manual configuration.

One of our customers has implemented this feature on their ROVs to maintain a reliable camera setup. By assigning a fixed IP to a specific port, they ensure that the forward view camera always appears in the correct position in their software—regardless of hardware swaps or system resets.

Introducing the Host Overview page

Anyone who has worked with remote network systems knows how challenging it can be to determine which device is connected to which port. Firmware version 16 addresses this pain point with the introduction of the Host Overview page.

This new feature provides a clear, real-time view of all connected devices, showing their IP and MAC addresses alongside their assigned switch ports. Whether you’re performing remote diagnostics, troubleshooting, or optimizing network configurations, the Host Overview page simplifies the process and reduces downtime.
