Company visit at Ixys
Before the summer holidays, we invited the students from UiS Aerospace to visit us at Bryne. During their visit, we introduced them to Ixys and gave them an insight into how we work, our various projects, products and solutions, and VJU Studio software.
The students also got a tour of our facilities, where they had the opportunity to see our production and learn more about how we test our products and solutions before they are delivered to customers.
Project milestones and system development
The team is currently progressing toward T1, a critical milestone for the Phoenix 2 project, where engine testing will take place. In parallel, work is underway on several systems that are essential to the rocket. Some team members are already working on integrating VJU Studio and the cameras provided by Ixys, further expanding the project´s testing and monitoring capabilities.
UiS Aerospace at ONS 2026
From August 24-27, Stavanger hosted ONS 2026, one of the worlds largest energy forums, attracting more than 70 000 visitors. UiS Aerospace participated at the Xplore North pavilion, alongside Space Lab, a Norwegian space company originating from UiS Aerospace.
Space Lab focuses on developing, testing, and operating reusable launch systems and advanced space propulsion technologies. The presence of UiS Aerospace at ONS highlights the growing connection between the region´s technology and energy communities and Norway´s emerging space industry.
Preparing for Andøya Space in 2027
UiS Aerospace students will adapt VJU Studio for their test rigs and potentially for launch operations at Andøya Space in 2027. We look forward to following their progress and witnessing how their creativity, curiosity, and technical expertise will drive aerospace innovation.
