On Saturday, September 12th, the Ixys team participated in the 10 km, 5 km, and 3 km walking event. Many of our employees and their families who joined last year are back again this year, along with several new faces on the team.
Together for an important cause
Markus-løpet is organized by Kristine and Åge Åsbø, who lost their eldest son, Markus, to leukemia in 2019. This year marks the sixth edition of the event, with all proceeds going to childhood cancer research and Kreftomsorg Rogaland.
For us at Ixys, it means a lot to support a local event that brings people together, creates engagement, and contributes to such an important cause.

Håvard and Endre took part in the 5 km race on their 10th birthday.
“We think it’s fantastic to bring employees and families together for Markus-løpet and enjoy a social day with great atmosphere and activities for everyone. Cancer affects many people in one way or another, which is why it’s important for us to contribute to Markus-løpet.”

Team Ixys
On race day, the Ixys tent became a natural meeting place for employees and their families both before and after the races with snacks, buns, and soft drinks. With strong winds and rain throughout the day, it was also great to take shelter inside the tent.
It was a pleasure to be part of Markus-løpet 2026 and contribute to a day filled with community and activities for everyone. With a varied and exciting stage program, it became a great success for everyone.

Entertainment on stage
Throughout the day, we enjoyed great music from Tommy Fredvang, an artist and songwriter from Stavanger, and Silje Sandanger, an artist and songwriter from Jæren. Dancer Karin Grastveit Jakobsen and Dansekompaniet Kulturbanken provided dance entertainment.
Stand-up comedian Rune Bjerga from Stavanger kept the audience entertained, while Inger Houghton, one of Norway’s biggest fitness profiles on social media, led the group warm-up before the races.

We look forward to Markus-løpet 2027!
