New climate chamber ready for use

Earlier this year, we invested in a high-capacity climate chamber to increase operational reliability and reduce our dependence on external test suppliers.

Training completed

At Ixys, Steffen Dugstad our System Technician and Frank Erik Togstad our Hardware Engineer, have recently completed an thorough training on how to operate our new climate chamber with Kuldespesialisten and Arve Nørgaard. The climate chamber allows us to test products in temperatures ranging from –40°C to +180°C.

During the training, they gained insights into:

  • The control system and safety parameters that prevent incorrect temperature settings
  • Fail-safe functions in case of power failure – including option of automatic test resumption
  • The new environmentally friendly cooling system based on CO₂
  • Dual control systems for increased operational reliability
  • Use of the SIMPATI software for test setup, monitoring, and notifications
  • Practical tips for testing electronics and how to best handle common challenges

The climate chamber is state-of-the-art and designed for accurate environmental simulation. Using CO₂ as s refrigerant, this chamber is an environmentally friendly solution that contributes to a reduced climate footprint and meets today´s strict environmental requirements. This gives us a solid foundation to start reliable and environmentally friendly testing.
